Barefoot Pilots of "Trans Maldivian Airways" (TMA), presented by Captain Andrew Farr
One of the most unique and exciting experiences in the Maldives is a seaplane transfer to the chosen tropical island resort. A ride with so called "Barefoot Pilots" should be set on the bucket list of any repeating visitor.
This short documentary showcases a "Day in the Life of a Seaplane Pilot" of TMA – Trans Maldivian Airways. Canadian born Captain Andrew Farr gives an inside view to the unique carrier, his job as captain, maintenance, safety and passion.
Fast growing TMA currently operates about 50 DHC-6 TWIN Otters (de Havilland Canada, Bombardier), serving island resorts from/to North and South of Malé Velana International Airport. The carrier has the largest seaplane fleet in the world.
